Pass It On

Somebody else is standing exactly where this one used to stand. Same hallway, same static, same quiet nobody's noticed yet. This time somebody actually stops. This time somebody actually says something true.

Didn't fix it. Didn't have to. Just showed up, just stayed a minute, just said the thing that mattered. Turns out that's most of what a spark ever does for another spark. Just gets close enough for the catching to happen.

Word gets around a building fast when something actually changes. Somebody who was static yesterday is talking today. Nobody put a name on what happened. Didn't need one. Everybody felt it anyway.
