Meet the Sociologix
Human society is built in nested scales: individual, family, community, city, country, world: and each scale is a "whole and a part" (a holon): made of the smaller units below it and part of the bigger one above it. Each level can do things its parts alone cannot (emergence), and the same building-up pattern runs continuously from atoms and cells all the way up to the whole world.
[ALL] We! (clap-clap!) We! (clap-clap!) A creature made of creatures, that's me, that's you, that's We!
[INDI] I'm Indi, one me, a crowd of cells in a grin, a whole little person... and the pile begins!
[ALL] Indi! (stomp-clap!) That's one, catch the beat, here we go!
[FAMI] (ding-dong!) A few little Indis who tuck you in tight, that's me, I'm Fami! Sing every one
[ALL] Indi... and Fami! (stomp-clap-clap!) A creature made of creatures, that's two, pile it on!
[VILLA] (block-party whoop, heyyy!) The families near, I'm Villa! Stack me on, sing the whole stack tall
[ALL] Indi... Fami... and Villa! (stomp-stomp-clap!) A creature made of creatures, that's three, pile it on!
[POLIS] (bus horn, beep-beep!) Towers and neighborhoods stacked, I'm Polis, the city! One more rung, sing 'em all
[ALL] Indi... Fami... Villa... and Polis! (stomp-clap-clap-stomp!) A creature made of creatures, that's four, pile it on!
[NATIO] (parade drums, rat-a-tat! flags go FWAP-FWAP!) I'm Natio, the country! Cities throw a high-five line, faster now, catch the beat, sing 'em all
[ALL] Indi-Fami-Villa-Polis... and Natio! (stomp-clap!) A creature made of creatures, that's five, one more, pile it on!
[MUNDA] (globe whirr, wweeeoo!) I'm Munda, the world! Every country, every one, The biggest creature of all, now everybody, give it all
[ALL] Indi! Fami! Villa! Polis! Natio! Munda! all of us together, and that giant is "We"! (stomp-stomp-clap!)
[KID] So am I one... or am I a lot? [INDI] Both, little one, a whole and a part!
[ALL] Atoms make a cell, cells make a me, mes make a family, families a village (clap-clap-clap!), villages a city, cities a country, countries make the world (STOMP!), small to tall, that's We!
[ALL] We! (clap-clap!) We! (clap-clap!) A creature made of creatures, that's me, that's you, that's We!
[INDI] One little me... part of all of it.
