Hydro and Oxya Make Water
Remember bonds? When Hydros stuck like glue? Now THREE building blocks have something new to do! One little Hydro... [boing] Two little Hydros... [boing boing]...
Remember bonds? When Hydros stuck like glue? Now THREE building blocks have something new to do!
One little Hydro... [boing] Two little Hydros... [boing boing] Looking for a friend!
Here comes Oxya! "I can hold TWO hands — come bond with me! All three together — let's see what we can be!"
One bonds in — [click] Two bonds in — [click] THREE! [splash] We made WATER! H - 2 - O!
Water water water! [splash] Hydro, Hydro, Oxya! [splash] Three blocks bonded together and they made H-2-O!
Water in the puddles — [splash] Water in the rain — [drip drip drip] Water in the ocean — [whoooosh] Water in the lake!
Water water water! [splash] That's what bonds can do! Two little Hydros bonded with Oxya — and made something new!
Now make it COLD — [brrrrr] Water turns to ICE! Hard and still and frozen — cold cold cold!
Now make it HOT — [sizzle] Water turns to STEAM! Up up up it floats — like a cloudy dream!
Ice... water... steam! It's H-2-O all three! Cold or hot or in between — still the same to me!
Puddles! Rivers! Oceans! Rain! Drink it! Splash it! Isn't it great? Every drop of water is Hydro, Hydro, Oxya — bonded into H-2-O!
[splash]
Key Concepts: Oxygen needs two bonds (has room for two) | Each hydrogen shares one electron with oxygen | H + H + O = H2O (water) | Aquo (water) is essential for all life | Water exists as Solidic (ice), LiQuo (liquid water), Aiery (steam) — same molecule, different states | Builds on electron-sharing concept from "Hydro Meets Hydro"
Characters: Two Hydros (already know how to bond) + Oxya (needs two bonds) = Aquo (water, H2O) | Cross-references Solidic, LiQuo, and Aiery from the Matterics
Key Words: water, H-2-O, bond, Aquo, share, molecule, electrons
