I glide across the pond, my feathers white as snow, Nose held high, I let the other birds wait below. The ducks and geese seem far too loud, too common in their way, I sail alone in silence while the mallards splash and play.

HAUGHTY! Looking down on every friend, Too proud to say hello, too proud to make amend, HAUGHTY! Floating far away, alone, A queen upon a lily pad, a kingdom of my own.

One golden afternoon a duckling lost her way, I led her gently homeward, though it cost my pride that day.
