No wind, no waves, no busy splash, Just one slow dragonfly. The whole world holds its quiet breath Beneath a peach-soft sky.

TRANQUIL! TRANG-kwil! So calm it doesn't move! Tranquil pond, a sheet of peace, In one long gentle groove.

A sleepy frog blinks once, then waits, A reed leans, barely there. The mist drifts off the silver pond And melts into the air.

It isn't empty, it's at rest, As peaceful as a sigh. A single leaf forgets to fall, Like morning passing by.
