Cellular Respiration

Educational songs teaching about cellular respiration and healthy eating habits using the rhythm of 'Little Miss Muffet'.

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, Eating an apple one day. She took a big breath, in came the air — And out came a puff right away!

Down went the apple into her tum, Sliced into sugary bits. The bits zipped along to her cells one by one, To power plants where they fit!

Mitochondria spin like a busy machine, They take the sugar in tight. They mix it with air, they shake it around, And make little batteries — bright!

ATP, ATP, the snack — The fuel that runs every cell! It moves your toes, tickles your nose, And helps your brain think well!

Air goes in and air goes out — That's the trade we make: Oxygen in for the burn-burn-burn, Steam goes out for goodness' sake!

Sugar plus air, a sparkly cheer, Cells go zoom and zip! Eat your veggies, breathe the sky — Respiration on the trip!
