The Wind and Sun

A musical retelling of Aesop's fable about a contest between Wind and Sun, a traveler in a coat, and which one finally got the coat off

Wind and Sun up in the sky, Had a contest they would try. Who can make that man we spy, Remove his coat as we watch from high?

Wind blew harder. Coat held tight. Sun shone warm. The coat slipped right. Two tried hard, but only one Got the coat off -- and it was Sun.

Wind blew hard with all his power, Made the man shrink and cower. Tighter wrapped his coat around, Holding fast with grip profound.

Sun then shone with warming rays, Gentle heat, no forceful ways. Soon the man grew warm inside, Took his coat off, satisfied.

[whoosh... hush... warm hum...]

One coat. One traveler. The Sun took it gently.
