Energy Changes Its Costume
Energy never disappears, it just changes costume: sunlight becomes plant food, food becomes a jump on the trampoline, and the top of the jump becomes the next big bounce. A silly, bouncy tour of energy changing form.
The sun pours down its golden light, Warm on my face, so warm and bright, The leaves outside soak it right up, Sunlight turns into plant power, filling them up!
Energy loves to change its costume, It never just vanishes, gone for good, It swaps its outfit, shape after shape, Sunlight to plant to salad on my plate!
I ate my salad, crunchy and green, The plant's own energy, ready within, Turned into MY energy, bit by bit, I zoomed out the door, full of it!

I jumped on the trampoline, BOING went my feet, Up in the air, rising with speed, At the very top I pause for a beat, That's stored energy, waiting to fall back down!
Then I fall back down, whoosh through the air, Stored energy turns to moving energy there, BOING! I bounce back up again, The costume just keeps changing, again and again!
Energy loves to change its costume, It never just vanishes, gone for good, Sun to plant to salad to me, To bouncing energy, wild and free!
I landed with a giggle, a squeak, a happy sound, Some of it turned to warmth in the mat, Costume after costume, it puts on and takes off, Energy's the same amount, just changing its cloth!
So next time you're eating, or jumping, or soaking up sun, Remember the costume change, it's never really done, Energy just travels, from one thing to the next, Now go make your own energy change happen!
