Goosebumps!

A silly bouncy song about tiny muscles called arrector pili that pull each hair upright, leftover from when our ancestors had fluffy fur

BRRRRR!

A breeze blew by -- a chill, a thrill -- And every little hair stood STILL! Up up up -- they ALL stood tall -- Tiny soldiers on a wall!

Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Look at my arm -- it's a tiny TENT-CITY! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Every hair saluting -- itty bitty!

PRICKLE PRICKLE!

Way down deep, beside each hair, A tiny muscle hides RIGHT THERE -- It's called -- (big word coming! get steady!) -- Arrector pili -- a-REK-tor PEE-lye! (Say it again -- a-REK-tor PEE-lye!)

When you're cold, or scared, or WOWED -- Those tiny muscles all go PROUD -- They TUG each hair right up on end -- Hello hairs -- hello, friend!

Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Little muscles pulling -- TUG TUG TUG! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Every hair a tiny shrug!

PRICKLE PRICKLE!

Long ago, our great-great-greats Had FLUFFY fur from head to toe -- Goosebumps puffed it BIG and ROUND To trap the warm and scare the foe!

But us? We're SMOOTH -- the fur went bye -- The fluff went bye-bye long ago -- The tiny muscles? Still HERE, though! Tugging hairs from yesteryear!

Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Tugging fluff from yesteryear! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Goose-bump-bump-bump! Even on a fuzz-less arm, my dear!

BRRRR!

(Tiny invisible feature -- still on the job!)
