splish... splash... splush!

Grandma Fish swam in a pond one day, Fins going flip, fins going flap, The pond got small, the mud got dry, So Grandma Fish gave a wiggle and a try.

Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! She scooched her fins along the mud, Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! The very first step, with a thud!

scooch... scooch... flop!

Her babies' babies' babies grew Little bumps where fins once flew, The bumps grew toes, the toes grew strong, And one day, legs! Where fins belonged!

Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! Her family walked right out the door, Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! Some stayed fish, some wanted more!

hop... hop... croak!

Some sprouted wings and touched the sky, Some kept swimming, never dry, Some grew fur and some grew feather, Cousins all, of one grandmother.

(Wiggle your hand, a fin was there once!)

Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! Look at your hand where fins once were, Grandma Fish! Grandma Fish! You're her great-great-great-granddaughter!

splish... splash... splush!

Still got a little wiggle in your walk today.
